Slowing things down

As you can probably tell from the past posts I’ve been moving around quite a lot which meant a lot of single night stays in hotels, I decided that I needed to relax and stay in one place for a couple of nights at least so that’s what I did.

I spent the morning at Nyang Nyang beach which was stunning, although during the steep decent down to the beach I realised that I had nearly no fuel, no cash and no idea where a cash point was. This was an issue because you can’t use card to pay at the petrol stations, that’s if you can even find one, the street sellers definitely don’t either.

I headed off in search for one, spluttering up the hill and after finding one that didn’t give me any cash but a bunch of withdrawal and refund transactions in my banking app, I made it to one which actually gives you money!

Even more of a plus was that a man sitting next to it on the floor had a collection of old spirit bottles filled with petrol you could buy, no joke, not like I care about the quality anyway it’s only a rental.

I had a quick stop at Suka Espresso for some food after deciding I should see what the massive queue is all about, which was a good idea in the end and then spent the rest of the morning hunting for some swim shorts as mine had decided to start disintegrating which isn’t what anyone wants to see.

Grabbed some dinner at a delightful Italian restaurant called Rolling Fork, I forgot to get a picture of the pizza but here’s some consolation squid.

The next morning I headed over to one of the millions of tourist information stands you can find dotted all over Bali and a man called Tomy sorted me out with tickets to go and visit Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, leaving from the harbour in Sanur.

I headed over to Sanur with a quick stop on the way to walk around Nusa Dua, which is a very strange place, filled with luxury hotel resorts, security and seemingly not much else. There were however some nice open park areas with tributes in like this one.

On to Nusa Lembongan!
